TurboMeeting on Site Web Conferencing
November 26, 2008 – 1:55 amRHUB Communications, a webconferencing services provider has recently provided a full web conferencing solution for Nova Tools, a leading Canadian manufacturer of molds, prototypes and fixtures. RHUB’s TurboMeeting web conferencing software will provide the company with low cost, onsite web conferencing, while allowing Nova Tools to control all aspects of the conferencing they use.
Mold and tooling manufacturing requires constant meetings between clients and suppliers, and before this implementation, many of the project managers at the company would have to fly back and forth between meetings to create and test the prototypes before they go into production. Now, Nova tools can conduct these meetings instantly online, saving the company money, time, and reducing the carbon footprint the company creates. Unlike many webconferencing services that provide webconferencing over the web on remote servers, TurboMeeting is an in-house solution where everythign is controlled locally, in this case at Nova’s headquarters in Windsor, Ontario.
Nova Tool Program Manager, Alex Toldo:
TurboMeeting has allowed us to stay in touch with our customers worldwide, both spontaneously and in structured meetings. With TurboMeeting, we have achieved significant cost reductions by reducing the need for on-site visits. In fact, TurboMeeting paid for itself in the first month.”
Before the current implementation of TurboMeeting, Nova tools had tried various other web confernecing products with limited success. Occasionaly clients weren’t able to connect to the online meeting because of firewall or IT security issues, and monthly bills that charge based on the number of participants would become exceedingly expensive when large meetings were required. Being a larger company, purchasing the software and hosting it themselves has proven to be a cost effective solution for the company.
